Kerkstra Precast currently has opportunities for individuals with precast experience. If you are a highly motivated, effective leader and have experience as a precast Structural Engineer, Detailer, Project Manager or Production Crew Leader, we’d like to talk to you about joining our team. Successful candidates must be dedicated to safely producing high quality concrete products.
We are currently looking to fill several important positions:
General Labor
We are seeking dependable people who can learn quickly to perform physical tasks to produce quality concrete products at our Grandville location. Knowledge of construction or concrete layout and/or mechanical ability helpful. Must be able to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, reaching, walking and twisting and lifting up to 50 lbs. Individuals must be reliable and hard working with an excellent proven attendance record. Must be willing to work overtime.
Professional Engineer
Seeking a P.E. with a minimum 7-10 years experience to perform engineering design for precast products that meet structural requirements, economics, constructability and quality. Must be a P.E. in the State of Michigan or an ability to obtain within 6-months of employment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customers, engineers, sales, manufacturing and detailing. Must be proactive in problem solving and project engineering to meet schedules and continuous improvement.
Quality Assurance Manager
Seeking a Quality Manager to plan, coordinate, and direct quality programs designed to ensure quality control and quality assurance of the production of products for Building Products and Utility Products consistent with established standards. Responsibilities include but are not limited; developing and implementing the quality system & cost savings projects; conducting pre-production reviews; inspecting products to verify quality specifications before, during and after production; managing Batch Plants, including mix designs, samples and materials and interpreting quality philosophy to key personnel in organization. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, as well as PCI Certification – Level II Quality Assurance and NPCA Quality Certification. Experience as a Field Quality Auditor is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be proactive in problem solving.
Maintenance Technician
Seeking a Maintenance repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, electrical equipment, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment. The successful candidate will have 7-10 years experience in electrical/mechanical maintenance for a manufacturing/construction environment as a Journeyman Electrician. The following certifications are preferred Master Electrician; Millwright; CDL-A; and Welding Certification(s) – preferred. Ability to work varied & off-shifts in order to perform routine and preventive maintenance when it least impacts the production schedule. Must be proactive in problem solving.
VP – Sales
Seeking a VP of Sales to manage the sales activities of the organization. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to developing and implementing strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals; reviewing market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, discount rates; and representing Kerkstra Precast at trade association meetings to promote product. Additionally this person will direct and supervise the Sales Team and Marketing Departments.
Candidates who have a minimum of 5-years leadership experience and a Bachelor’s Degree or related experience will be given preference. A strong financial background or experience in structural engineering is a plus.
