Kerkstra Produces Prestressed Box Beams

Kerkstra produced 33” x 48” prestressed box beams for the Jackson County – McDevitt Avenue bridge, over US 127. The beam in this photo is 106 feet, 1 inch and weighs 48 tons. This is Kerkstra’s first time producing prestressed box beams. There will be a total of 36 beams for the entire project. The beams will range from 48-54 tons. The customer for this project is Davis Construction Company.
